Located in Manhattan, Kansas, Kansas State University was founded in 1863 making it the oldest public university in the state of Kansas and the fourth oldest school in the Big 12 Conference. Originally named Kansas State Agricultural College, when the school first opened September 1863, it became only the 3rd university to allow admission equally to men and women. Today, Kansas State has a current enrollment of approximately twenty three thousand students.

The Kansas State Wildcats athletic program completes as a member of the Big 12 Conference in all major college sports. Although Kansas State has never won an NCAA team title, the basketball program has appeared in 4 Final Fours and the football program impressively posted 11 wins six straight years between 1997 - 2003.
